Nathan “Nate” Smith is an experienced employment lawyer with expertise bringing and defending most types of employment claims both individually and as through class actions, including: sexual harassment, sex discrimination, age discrimination, race discrimination, religious discrimination, pregnancy discrimination, Family and Medical Leave Act claims, wage and hour, minimum wage violations, failure to pay overtime, independent contractor misclassification, Fair Labor Standards Act violations. Nate is proud to have completed recent state bar sponsored training with Department of Labor attorneys on wage and hour litigation . He also participates in the Arizona Employment Lawyers Association’s directory of lawyers for Wage and Hour and Family and Medical Leave claimants that the Department of Labor cannot help.
Nate has tried cases to verdicts in state and federal courts, litigated arbitrations to judgment, and settled many cases at mediation or before trial. Nate’s trial experience and advance preparation can contribute to forcing employers to settle cases early and often. Nate is also a trained mediator and uses his knowledge of the process to maximize value for his clients.
